Premium tyre manufacturer Hankook has announced that its Ventus S1 evo Z UUHP tyre is the original equipment fitment for the new BMW M5. The tyre was specifically designed to meet the unique requirements of the high-performance saloon, which features a new electrified drive system.

The Ventus S1 evo Z is a mixed tyre with a size of 285/40 ZR20 at the front axle and 295/35 ZR21 at the rear axle. The tyre offers lightning-fast steering response, perfect transmission of cornering forces, and exceptional driving dynamics. It also features a low rolling resistance, contributing to improved fuel efficiency.

Hankook’s engineers worked closely with BMW M to develop a tyre that could handle the PHEV model's high load capacity and transmit the system output from the V8 engine and electric machine to the road in a controlled manner. The tyre also features a reinforced aramid hybrid belt for enhanced performance on dry surfaces and a speed index (Y) that indicates approval for top speeds in excess of 300 km/h.

The Ventus S1 evo Z is produced at Hankook’s European plant in Hungary and is available as an original equipment fitment for the BMW M5. The tyre is also available as an aftermarket option.

Chinese automaker Zeekr has selected Continental's PremiumContact 6 tyres as original equipment (OE) for its Zeekr 001 electric sedan. The sedan will be fitted with 265/40 R22 106V XL FR size tyre, specially designed for dynamic and responsive handling while providing safety and comfort.
