Ford has selected Continental Tires as the exclusive tyre supplier for its new Explorer and Capri electric SUVs, equipping both models with factory-fitted EcoContact 6 Q summer tyres in 19, 20, and 21-inch sizes. Additionally, for year-round performance, Ford has approved Continental’s AllSeasonContact all-weather tyres in a 19-inch size as original equipment.

Designed specifically for electric vehicles, the EcoContact 6 Q delivers energy-efficient and quiet driving, aligning with the performance needs of the Ford Explorer and Capri. A specially engineered rubber compound reduces energy absorption and friction, minimising rolling resistance and extending battery range. Continental has also optimised the tread pattern to lower rolling noise, enhancing ride comfort. Modified blocks, sipes, and side grooves ensure high mileage, strong braking performance, and responsive handling. The premium tyre provides short braking distances, reliable grip on both wet and dry surfaces, and excellent cornering stability—even at high speeds.

For all-season reliability, the AllSeasonContact tyre offers a rolling resistance class A rating and an XL marking for increased load capacity, making it well-suited to electric vehicles. Continental has reduced rolling resistance through an advanced tyre design and innovative rubber compound, helping to maximise vehicle range. A specialised tread profile and rigid construction improve aquaplaning resistance, while a silica-rich compound enhances grip and ensures short braking distances in various weather conditions.

Continental's tyre development focuses on low rolling resistance, minimal rolling noise, and high durability—key factors for electric vehicles, which require tyres capable of handling increased weight due to battery loads. The company supplies original equipment tyres to the world’s top 10 manufacturers of fully electric vehicles, reinforcing its leadership in the EV segment.

The approved tyre sizes for the electric versions of the Ford Explorer and Ford Capri include the EcoContact 6 Q in 235/55 R19 105H XL, 255/50 R19 107H XL, 235/50 R20 104H XL, 255/45 R20 105H XL, 235/45 R21 101H XL, and 255/40 R21 102H XL. Additionally, the AllSeasonContact is available in 235/55 R19 105H XL and 255/50 R19 107H XL.

Hankook Tire is supplying its Ventus F200 racing tyre to the HWA EVO.R sedan, competing in the 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours, taking place from 14 to 17 May in Germany. Serving as the Official Technology Partner of HWA AG, Hankook is providing technical assistance throughout the race weekend with the Ventus F200 fitted to the HWA EVO.R in the open SP-X class for high-performance tuned vehicles. The racing slick is engineered for dry conditions and aims to deliver stable performance under extreme endurance racing demands.

Recognised globally in motorsport, the Ventus F200 incorporates advanced compound technologies that enhance driving performance and achieve roughly a 10 percent weight reduction over its predecessor. The tyre offers strong grip, high-speed stability and precise handling under demanding race conditions. HWA AG, founded by former Mercedes-AMG Co‑Founder Hans Werner Aufrecht, is a noted global motorsport engineering company specialising in high‑performance vehicle development.

This collaboration expands an existing strategic partnership, following Hankook’s original equipment tyre supply for the limited‑production HWA EVO last year.
